2018 will bring lots of opportunities for learning and conversation together. Below you’ll find the basics of my seminar schedule from February through the summer. I’ll be back with dates for Fall 2018 before too long. We will returning to Tamilnadu in south India in DECEMBER 2018. If you’d like more information about that, write to me as soon as possible, now wouldn’t be too soon. You can write to me directly: svcourses@gmail.com with any questions and to Vishali Varga: vishali@vishalivarga.com for specifics about trip details, logistics, and organization. Our India Pilgrimages require planning and commitments ---and I promise you, it’s worth every bit of it to you and it means the world to me that you would come. There’s nothing like it. We have been doing this for 15 years now and every year is better because we have established wonderful rapport and gained the trust and affection of the people, the priests, and the local authorities. We’re treated as honored guests and we do our very, very best to offer our deep respect , earn our access, and leave behind us a warm feeling for everyone we meet. We go to India to have a rich and deep experience of culture and spirituality that focuses on the practice of darshan: to see and be seen in the company of one’s own self and the myriad forms that reveal to us our innermost feelings--- all in the company of other pilgrims and seekers.

SUMMER PLANS? RAJANAKA SUMMER CAMP IN WESTERN NEW YORK IS JULY 26TH-JULY 30TH.

This year there will be only ONE Summer Camp. So what happens at Camp and is this for you?

Legend has it that some 15 years back some friends who are my students insisted on coming up to our home during the summer for a long weekend of focused, intensive study of all things Rajanaka, meaning studies in yoga philosophy, storytelling, mythology, and ritual. One thing led to another and now we gather every summer in the Finger Lakes of western New York, near Rochester, for what is affectionately called Rajanaka Summer Camp. We meet in South Bristol, New York near Rochester (the best place to fly though Syracuse will do too) at The Gell Center, tucked in the remote hills of western New York’s Finger Lakes region. (Here’s a peek at the facility, http://wab.org/history-2/) It’s beautiful, quiet, and an excellent place for a holiday and for study. Rajanaka Camp is always inviting to everyone, at any and every level of learning and study. Oldtimers welcome warmly newbies, we sit together for hours, study and converse together, make friends, eat, laugh, and even party some. There are hours each day of learning, we make lunch for you at the Gell Center facility, and have a wonderful “Curry Night” at my home. The subject is, umm, my choice and I will provide details soon. Suffice it to say that if you love deep learning, want to keep truly great company, come with an open mind and a willing heart. We do no formal asana, this is not about that, though of course you are welcome to practice on your own. This is about storytelling and rich learning that means to include and embrace everyone who chooses to come. You’ll find incredible company, warm welcomes, and serious conversation that is compelling and fun. The Finger Lakes are spectacular, affordable, and really fun--- so if you bring family with you who are not as keen to attend our Camp, they too will easily find plenty to do: lakes, hiking trails, beautiful parks, and summer fun. Serious fun here, come, it’s always a blast. Tuition includes lectures, lunch, and “curry night” dinner. You are responsible for travel (including making your way to the Gell Center, which requires a drive), accommodations, and meals except for lunch and Curry Night, and we have good suggestions to help. Tuition is $625 (Tuition is $635 for PayPal users, and we don't take credit cards directly so please use PayPal, it’s simple and safe.). Since there is only one Camp this year, please sign up as soon as possible. More details to follow. You can write to me here: svcourses@gmail.com. You will need to send a deposit of $100 by March 15th to reserve your place. Please PayPal at svcourses@gmail.com. If you would like to write a check, make it out to me, Douglas Brooks and send it to Douglas Brooks, 7296 Gregg Road, Bloomfield, New York, 14469-9763. If you have any questions, just write to me. We always want to make things easy and have lists of suggestions for accommodations, etc. We’ll create a 2018 Rajanaka Summer Camp Facebook group too so that people can communicate, ask questions, and get it together. SIGN UP TODAY. PLEASE, SOON!
